Xihaigu is a name you won't find on any map, but the colloquial term given to counties with the least fertile land in China's northwest, and awarded the dubious distinction of, "most unfit for human settlement," by the United Nations. 西海固是一个在任何地图上都找不到的地名，它是中国西北地区土地最贫瘠的县区的概称。曾被联合国确定为全球最不适宜人类居住的地区之一。

Hongsibu in Ningxia is the hub of China'slargest ecological migration initiative for poverty alleviation, helping over200,000 people relocate and start a better life.
The massive irrigation project lifted water from the "mother river", or the Yellow River, more than 300 meters and pumped the water into the veins and arteries of what would become Hongsibu.
24 years later, thanks to ongoing government support and their own hard work, the people of Hongsibu have transformed their community.
“乡亲们搬迁后，更好生活还在后头。希望乡亲们百尺竿头、更进一步，发挥自身积极性、主动性、创造性，用自己的双手创造更加美好的新生活。”
2020年6月8日，习近平总书记来到宁夏吴忠市红寺堡区弘德村考察时说了这句话。
曾当面与习主席唠家常的村民刘克瑞回忆说，主席曾亲切地问他“你们在这里生活方便吗？”
2012年告别故土、来到弘德村安家落户的刘克瑞表示：
我们从南部山区搬到红寺堡后，我们家发生了翻天覆地的变化。主要的一点就是孩子上学方便了，我们在这里务工特别方便，在家门口就可以就业。
Ever since we moved out of the mountains in the south to Hongsibu, it's much easier for my kids to receive education now and for us to find jobs.
刘克瑞一家在2017年成功摘掉了建档立卡户的“穷帽子”。随后的几年里，刘克瑞入股肉牛养殖园区，当上了“股东”，拿到了分红。现在他又新开了一间茶舍，代售红寺堡农特产品。
石花姐在探访过程中还认识了网红“枸杞一姐”王航弟。她白手起家，如今成功经营着一家枸杞公司，通过直播带货，将商品销往全国各地。生意越做越大，她销售的枸杞甚至一度卖断了货。
Goji berry queen Wang Hangdi started with nothing, but she now runs asuccessful goji berry company, selling her goods all over China mainly vialive-streams.
Her story starts on a remote farm where sheclicked away on old phones, documenting the stories around her. She has since gone through 9 phones andhas published 6 books.
在采访的最后，石花姐说，通过红寺堡的案例她看到了，当人们不再需要为基本需求而奋力挣扎时，可以迸发出作为完整的人的所有可能性，这样的故事非常鼓舞人心。
